Lindsay is a recent Virginia Commonwealth University graduate who suffered severe and debilitating complications following surgery for Crohn’s disease, resulting in quadruple amputations. Initially hospitalized on August 3, 2007 she remained in intensive care until early December, when she was moved to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore to begin rehabilitative therapy. She has since returned to Richmond to continue her therapy and recuperation among friends and family. Lindsay’s medical expenses far exceed insurance coverage. Love of Lindsay has been created by friends of Lindsay to accept donations to help cover these costs. Donations of all sizes are deeply appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and support.

Over the Summer of 2008 a small documentary crew followed Lindsay as she pursued her career goals and challenged adversity. The final product aired on September 29, 2008, WCVW-TV channel 57 and cable channel 24 in Richmond, VA. It is also available on the VCU-TV/HD website (www.vcutvhd.com) as a high-definition download or as a streaming video as well as on Youtube.

Just watched you on your documentary and though it was great. You must touch and inspire so many people each day. It was fantastic to see you walkig about and I know you must be getting ready for the marathon.. Hope to see you soon. creasey

My company Commonwealth Wholesale in in the Hanover Industrial Park, I am quite well known , I am very involved in community programs. My heart goes out to you Lindsay. I will get a letter off to you, I have daughters older than you, but I have lost all use of my lower body and now the arms & hands are going – I’m in a powerchair I can relate – a little. But there is so much more in life – every day is a gift. If there is a way I might support you, please let me know.

You are honest, thought-filled and open to what life brings your way. You are absolutely beautiful and rich with what life is all about – living and taking in the experience.
